The Department of Sociology and Sexuality Studies invites applications for part-time lecturer positions (non-tenure track) for the Fall 2024 academic semester and Spring 2025 academic semester.
The Department of Sociology and Sexuality Studies at SF State is committed to critical analysis of societies, with particular emphasis on inequalities, injustices, and processes of social change. Our primary mission is to provide students with the theoretical and methodological skills needed to better understand, critique, and contribute to the worlds in which they live. The sociology major prepares students for a broad range of career paths, including employment in community-based organizations, local governments, human service agencies, and research settings. The major also provides students with a foundation to successfully pursue graduate work in multiple areas, including sociology, social work, public health, public administration, counseling, law, sexuality studies, and other fields.

Salary
Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,007 – $6,359 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,925 – $12,594 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,500 – $13,831 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,184 – $14,487 per month
Anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience. Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
