Key Responsibilities:
- Frontline Support: Serve as the first point of contact, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience.
- Administrative Excellence: Manage administrative tasks while ensuring policy compliance.
- Financial Management: Oversee budgets, process expenses, and maintain financial records.
- Class Scheduling: Develop and update the master schedule, catalog, and syllabi.
- Faculty Coordination: Assist with appointments, payroll, RTP processes, and candidate searches.
- Office Management: Oversee front desk operations, scheduling, supplies, and student assistants.
- Student Support: Assist with admissions, registration, exams, and student records.
- Community Engagement: Organize and support department events.

Position Information
- This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position.
- This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
- The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.

Department Summary
The Department of Educational Leadership is a graduate-level academic department that encompasses a credential program in administrative services, a MA in Educational Leadership, a MA in Teacher Leadership, and an Ed.D. in Education Leadership/PK-12 Education. The department currently has 8 tenured/tenure track faculty, 15 lecturers, and approximately 200 on-campus students and 100 distance students. The department faculty members administer extramural funding through the SDSU Research Foundation.

Education and Experience
Entry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

Key Qualifications
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with a relational database such as FileMaker Pro or similar systems.
- Thorough knowledge of purchasing, payroll, financial, facilities, and operational processes in a university or similar institutional setting is preferred.
- Experience working in a higher education or public sector setting preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $4,425 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,058 – $6,653 per month.
