Position Summary

The DPRC collaborates with SF State's diverse community to ensure that all aspects of campus life -learning, working and living -are universally accessible. As being part of our team, you work directly with students and/or employees registered with the Disability Programs and Resource Center (DPRC) to provide approved accommodations that provide access for students in completing academic coursework and/or employees in completing essential functions of their jobs.

Position Information

The Notetaker provides academic and/or work-related assistance to students and employees with disabilities by taking comprehensive notes of written or electronic materials, and/or assisting in communicating with others. Provides typewritten or clear handwritten materials, which may be dictated or described by the individual. All content must be that of the individual assisted; note takers do not develop content for the individual. May not access University Level One or Level Two Student Data. Maintains confidentiality at all times.

  • Demonstrate behaviors that are in line with the User Friendly Principles (P530C) and Principles of Conduct for a Multi-Cultural University (P30D);
  • Demonstrate safe work practices for oneself, others and the office environment.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or other 4-year degree
  • Excellent note-taking and typing skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent communication, judgement and detail-orientation
  • Applicable FERPA & Information Security on-line training required
  • Must abide by departmental policy to refrain from wearing scented products in deference to those with chemical sensitivities and chronic health disabilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with University facilities, processes, and procedures
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities
