Job Summary
This position reports to the Director of the Bickerstaff Academic Center (BAC); and the Assistant Director of Academic Support. The incumbent will assist in providing academic support, clerical assistance for BAC programs, and general reception duties. During the academic semesters (fall and spring) workday hours will be adjusted to meet the operational needs of the Center between the hours of 9am to 9pm Monday through Thursday.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic support assistance: assist the Assistant Director for Academic Support with professional execution of all aspects of tracking and maintaining BAC and University databases for student-athlete academic support services.
- Front desk receptionist support assistance & maintain academically enriching study environment for CSULB’s NCAA student-athlete population.
- Provide clerical assistance for the BAC operational needs.
- Required NCAA Compliance: Maintain working knowledge and comply with all NCAA compliance, Big West Conference, Athletic Department and CSULB rules and regulations that apply to working with the NCAA student-athlete population.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Excellent word processing and excel skills to prepare manuals and other documents. The ability to multi-task, be flexible and understanding. Maintain a professional domineer at all times when working with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to work with a diverse university population and student athletes. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with CSULB staff and students.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Education and Experience
• Equivalent to four years of administrative support experience required.
• Knowledge of general NCAA rules, student-athlete’s issues and academic complexity is preferred.
Physical Summary
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walking and standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects. (10 pounds or less).

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
Hiring Range: The hiring range for this position is $3,864- $3,900 per month commensurate with candidate's education, experience, skills, and training.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $3,864- $6,072 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
